Susan`s interest in joining Western Health is driven by her passion for healthcare and her commitment to making an impact in fast-paced and collaborative environments. She is also passionate about achieving positive patient outcomes and maximizing the best outcomes through technology. Susan has extensive experience in strategic development roles in healthcare. Prior to this role, Susan was Executive Director General of Partnerships at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeon. Prior to joining the university, she was Executive Director of Strategy, Marketing and Business Development at Epworth HealthCare for a decade. Susan holds an MBA from Monash University in collaboration with New York University`s Stern School of Business. As a corporate and corporate lawyer, Tess has held positions in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, government, banking and mining. Tess is personally committed to social justice, safety and empowerment, as evidenced by her current volunteer roles as Vice President of the Sexual Assault and Family Violence Centre in Geelong and as Director of Uniting Housing Victoria. In addition to her leadership and management in public health, Sandy has extensive corporate experience as a senior consultant for multinational mergers. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Graduate Diploma in Human Resources, OHS and Critical Event Management. The Contracts` Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for the effective risk management of Western Health`s (WH) contract law.

The Senior Contract Counsel strives to continuously improve to streamline WH`s business processes and results by overseeing contract law matters, including the preparation, review, negotiation and amendment of contract documentation, as well as working with WH`s contract clients, WH Procurement Services and external counsel. While the work is focused on contracts, the role will from time to time be to provide general legal advice to the organization on the various matters referred to the Legal Service. Western Health is in a period of rapid growth. Our services include four public acute care hospitals: Footscray Hospital, Sunshine Hospital (including Joan Kirner Women`s and Children`s), Williamstown Hospital and Bacchus Marsh & Melton Hospital. We also operate Sunbury Day Hospital, Hazeldean, Grant Lodge Residential Aged Care as well as community health centres in Melton, Caroline Springs and Bacchus Marsh and a range of community services. Prior to joining Western Health, Tess advised a number of public and private health services. From 2014 to 2021, she was General Counsel and Director of Corporate Governance and Risk at Epworth HealthCare. Russell joined us directly from the UK, where he held a number of senior positions within the National Health Service over a period of 16 years and prior to that in the private healthcare sector. Her experience includes acute care hospitals, mental health, the community sector and health services contracting. Sandy is a passionate and positive leader with extensive operational experience, leading large teams across multiple locations.

Prior to joining Western Health in 2018, Sandy was Director of Nursing at Austin Health. In this role, Sandy had extensive clinical and operational experience managing an Austin Health campus, overseeing the delivery of geriatric care, operating rooms, subacute and mental health inpatient beds, and ambulatory and community rehabilitation services. Mark is currently Vice President of the Health Management Finance Association, the leading organization for financial professionals working in healthcare. An exciting opportunity arose for a motivated Senior Legal Counsel (Contracts) to join Western Health`s legal team on the Footscray campus. The position is part-time, three days a week or 0.6 FTEs, during working hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) for a period of 9 months (until September 16, 2022) with the possibility of extension until the end of January 2023. The Contracts Counsel is responsible for the effective management of risks related to Western Health`s (WH) contract law. Contract Counsel is committed to continuous improvement in order to streamline WH`s business processes and results by overseeing contract law matters, including the creation, review, negotiation and amendment of contract documents, as well as working with contract clients through WH, WH Contract Management and Procurement Services (CMPS) and external counsel.
